FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST​​

POSITION: Front Desk Receptionist Non-exempt   
REPORTS TO: Stephanie Torres
SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm.
WAGE: DOE

Iliuliuk Family and Health Services, Inc. is currently accepting applications for the position: Front Desk Coordinator.

JOB SUMMARY:
These duties are not intended to be a comprehensive list.  Duties may change with the needs of the clinic.
Under the direct supervision of the Front Desk Coordinator, the Front Desk Receptionist provides administrative functions within a community health clinic, including but not limited to:
  • Answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate staff members; Take messages as necessary;
  • Schedule patient appointments;
  • Check patients in and out;
  • Collect patient copays, deductibles and past due balances;
  • Update patient information, as necessary;
  • Separate and distribute incoming mail and facsimiles to appropriate departments when supervisor is not present;
  • Perform other clerical work, such as filing and outgoing mail preparation, as necessary;
  • Check office Post Office box, when assigned to do so;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Front Desk Coordinator and/or the CEO.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must be able to hear within normal limits with or without use of corrective devices;
Must be able to read 12-point font type with or without corrective lenses;
Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing with staff, patients and the general public;
Must have manual dexterity of hands/ fingers for frequent writing, computer work, filing and assisting with procedures;
Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50lbs;
Must be able to subject to prolonged sitting, standing or walking.

Maintain a professional personal appearance, and abide by the dress code at all times while working and representing IFHS. Demonstrate actions that support maintaining a positive and clean facility appearance.

Acknowledge customers; smile and maintain eye contact as appropriate for patient culture. Apologize for problems, inconveniences, and wait times. Be kind, empathetic, and helpful. Act in a professional manner at all times.

Treat all customers (patients and guests) with respect. Treat colleagues (employees, practitioners, volunteers) with professionalism. Be accountable to meeting customers’ requests and needs. Recognize and respect differing viewpoints and beliefs. Show reverence for cultural diversity and perspective of all people.
 
Ownership/ Accountability:
Act as an ambassador of IFHS at all times. Anticipate and exceed customers’ needs and expectations. Understand and accept responsibilities. Demonstrate a proactive approach to all issues, and/or concerns.
 
Communication:

Acknowledge customers / patients by being attentive. Keep customers / patients appropriately informed. Maintain confidentiality at all times. Use proper voice and email etiquette. Use proper and professional telephone etiquette. Demonstrate positive and proactive communication skills to include active listening. Asks appropriate questions to clarify understanding.

IFHS will be closed from noon to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday only.
IFHS OPENS AT 9:30 AM the third Wednesday of each month due to our all-staff meeting.
