JOB TITLE: Temporary Medical Assistant/Supply Technician
FLSA Job Status: Non-Exempt
Education/Licensure:  High school diploma or equivalent.  CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.  Computer skills, Word, Excel, etc.  Good communication skills in English, spoken as well as written.
Department: Clinical Support Staff
Supervisor: Clinical Services Coordinator 

I. ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY
A. Reports to: Clinical Services Coordinator and Medical Director
B. Key Working Relationships: Practitioners, Medical Support Staff, Behavioral Health Clinicians, and Administration
C. Primary Customer Groups: Practitioners, Patients and their family members, and Vendors/Customers
D. Aged of Patients Served: All
 
II. STANDARD OF CONDUCTS
A. Appearance:
  1. Maintain a professional personal appearance, and abide by the dress code at all times while working and representing IFHS.
  2. Demonstrate actions that support maintaining a positive and clean facility appearance.

  1. Ownership/ Accountability:

III. JOB SUMMARY
A. Schedule: Work 5-6 hours a day, flexible schedule that will include some Saturdays
B. Duties: After orientation and training the Medical Assistant/Supply Technician will be able to;
  1. Provide professional care to patients of all ages from infant to elderly
  2. Coordinate and assist with planned mass Covid-19 testing in clinic and offsite.
  3. Demonstrates correct utilization of computer-based health information system.
  4. Maintain a safe and aseptic environment by carrying out sterile and aseptic technique and procedures
  5. Responsible for medical supply management such as; supply ordering, restocking rooms, organizing supply rooms, monthly and yearly inventory check, and expiration checks
  6. Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with Joint Commission and HRSA standards
  7. Preforms high level disinfection (HLD) and stream sterilization according to manufacturer’s guidelines while ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
  8. Ensure proper storage and temperature of all medical supplies
  9. Assisting in other secondary duties such as laundry, cleaning rooms, shredding/filing, etc.
  10. IFHS MA must show competency of skills prior to being cleared to perform them
  11. Other duties as assigned by the Clinical Services Coordinator and Medical Director
 
IV. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective devices
  2. Visions: adequate to read 12-point font type with or without corrective lenses
  3. Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing with staff, patients and the general public
  4. Must have manual dexterity of hands/ fingers for  frequent writing, computer work, filing and preforming/assisting with procedures
  5. Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 200lbs (with assistance)
  6. Must be able to subject to prolonged standing or walking

IFHS will be closed from noon to 1:00 PM, Monday through Friday only.
IFHS OPENS AT 9:30 AM the third Wednesday of each month due to our all-staff meeting.
