I.ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY
A. Reports to: Laboratory and Radiology Department Coordinator/Lab Director
B. Key Working Relationships: Practitioners, Medical Support Staff, Mental Health Clinicians, and Administration
C. Primary Customer Groups: External Practitioners, Patients and their family members, and Vendors/Customers
D. Aged of Patients Served: All
 
II.STANDARD OF CONDUCTS
A. Appearance:

III.JOB SUMMARY
  1. Schedule: Will have a flexible schedule that includes working some Saturdays, responsibilities may include helping with after-hours call.
  2. Duties: After orientation and training the Lab/X-ray Technician will be able to;
  1. Follow the laboratories procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
  2. Maintain records that demonstrate the proficiency testing samples tested in the same manner as patient samples.
  3. Adhere to the laboratories quality control policies, document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  4. Review Quality Control (QC) and submit monthly QC to the Laboratory Director.
  5. Follow the laboratories established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratories established acceptable levels of performance.
  6. Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the technical consultant, clinical consultant or director.
  7. Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratories established performance specifications.
  8. Check laboratory supplies and expiration dates.
  9. Follow all CLIA and The Joint Commission (TJC) Laboratory standards.  Pass proficiency tests as required by CLIA and TJC.
  10. Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately: to include gloves, mask, gown and shoe covers.  Training provided in PPE use.
  11. Collect all lab tests as ordered and do in-house labs in a timely manner.
  12. Maintain all lab machinery and equipment as required.
  13. Maintain all lab records and files.
  14. Access outside labs test results on-line.
  15. File all test results in a timely manner.
  16. Notify the Lab/X-ray Coordinator or CEO of any equipment failures or needs.
  17. Take all x-rays and make x-ray copies in a timely manner as ordered.
  18. Send radiology over read films in a timely manner as ordered.
  19. Maintain all x-ray records and files including patient file folders, daily log sheet, send out log, over read log and maintenance log.
  20. Change out x-ray badges and issue new ones when they arrive in the mail.
  21. Maintain and clean all x-ray analyzers and equipment as required.
  22. Other duties as assigned by Lab/X-ray Coordinator or CEO.
 
IV.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Hearing: within normal limits with or without use of corrective devices
  2. Visions: adequate to read 12-point font type with or without corrective lenses
  3. Must be able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing with staff, patients and the general public
  4. Must have manual dexterity of hands/ fingers for  frequent writing, computer work, filing and assisting with procedures
  5. Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50lbs
  6. Must be able to subject to prolonged sitting, standing or walking
